WHAT STUDENTS ARE SAYING

Bob,
My name is Sean We could actually relate to what you have showed us, we could actively participate... Never have I seen an assembly of a caliber of what you presented us. A big thanks from all for giving us an excellent show and a life lesson many need to understand. (I've become a "Help! My life is in shambles. Hopefully those who saw the show will realize that ending their life prematurely isn't worth it.

Thanks again for the show,
Sean

Bob,
Hey! I go to Northwest High School. And I just wanted to Thank you for coming to my school today. I can't even begin to tell you how much I appreciate what you do and why. So many teens die every year from committing suicide. And it kills me to even begin to think about why anyone would want to do that.

You are an inspiration, you are a hero, and you're a mind changer. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. It really hurt me inside to see what had happened to the girl who got hit by the drunk driver. And it really, really brought tears to my eyes, when I looked across that gym and saw all my other class mates with tears in their eyes, and to know that we could all relate.

One thing's for sure... I won't be picking up another alcoholic drink in a very, very long time!

Thanks Again. You will forever be in my heart, soul and mind. Please don't ever stop what you do, Because believe it or not...You are helping us, and we are finally, for once, listening.

I don't even know how much I can thank you. With every piece of love in my body, I thank you. With every Breath I take I thank you, and with every muscle in my body I thank you!!!!!!

Thanks again!
We really do love you!

Dear Bob Holmes,
WOW. Is all I can say. There no other words to explain the impact your speech made on me. The amazing ability you have to play volleyball on a one man team is unbelievable.

This is ***** from Elba Central School of New York. You visited my school on Monday the 22nd of 2006. I wanted to say that I think what your doing is just mind boggling and I’m very glad your doing it. I also wanted to say that your program/setup really made a difference in my life. This actually lifted my heart back into my chest. I have been going through some incredibly depressing times and just didn’t know what to do or where to go.

WHAT PRINCIPALS ARE SAYING

Bob,
I just wanted to thank you for the terrific program that you presented to our students. Our building is still talking about the fun that they had watching you play volleyball as well as the positive message that you also presented. In fact I have gotten a couple of calls from parents who called and thanked us for having such a wonderful assembly. I would highly recommend your program for any middle school or high school.

Thanks again for visiting our school.

From Brady Cook, Principal:
"Bob Holmes put on the most entertaining and meaningful assembly performance that I've seen in my entire career in education. He dazzled our students with humor, action, and athleticism. After captivating them with his amazing volleyball skills, he delivered a message about making good decisions. I will be recommending Mr. Bob Holmes to every principal that will listen."

Bob,
I would like to thank you so much for the assembly on Monday. Many of the students were thrilled with the games and were inspired by your talk. Even if only one student is affected by your message, it was worth the time. I feel very fortunate that we were able to have you come to Windham. Many of the teachers were quite impressed and have taken your postcards to spouses who teach in other schools and to their communities. In the 32 years that I have been teaching I feel that this was the best assembly and will be sure to pass that information on to many others.

Thank you again,

Hey i'm Miranda Holbrook and you just came to my school yesterday--West Carter Middle School and although we have had many guest speakers I do have to say from the bottom of my heart that your presentation was by far the best! I enjoyed seeing everyone getting beat at volleyball but i was truly amazed to see how much you care about other people..

Bob,
I just wanted to drop you a line and let you know you really touched a lot of our students at East Carter Middle School today during your visit. Many staff members mentioned that in all their years teaching yours was the best assembly that had ever seen. I have a child both at East High and East Middle, they both can't stop talking about you today! Although the older one you did beat she was one of the Lady Raider Volleyball team!

Hi Bob,
I thought everything was GREAT. What a powerful message. My daughter said that a lot of the assemblies have a message that is just preaching to kids. She really liked that you showed how you can beat the odds and your talk was breif and powerful. A clear message without preaching. But doing, having fun and still having a message. Thank you for everything!

Mr. Bob Holmes did an outstanding job of catching the student's attention from the first second he stepped onto the court until his last word. Our middle school students connected with Mr. Holmes and responded to his message of the dark side of bullying, alcohol and drugs. His presentation was lively, exciting, and powerful. It was truly an amazing performance in that our whole community has been talking about the "One-Man Volleyball Team."
